Computer Engineering MSc program is a broad field encompassing diverse subject areas such as computer systems, distributed computing, computer networks, communications, and signal processing. Knowledge of mathematics and natural sciences is applied to the theory, design, and implementation of devices and systems for the benefit of society. Computer engineers are trained in various fields of computer science and engineering. They engage in the design and analysis of digital computers and networks, including software and hardware. The field covers computer architecture, computer graphics, design automation, system software, data structures and algorithms, distributed computing, and computer networks. Applicants for this program should have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Programming, Electrical Engineering, or another science/engineering major with prerequisite computer science courses.
Master of Science in Computer Engineering offers both thesis and non-thesis options. The thesis program consists of seven courses, a seminar, and a thesis. Two of the seven courses are compulsory, while five are electives. The non-thesis program is for those who want to further their educational and professional goals without doing a thesis. It consists of ten courses and a graduation project, with two compulsory and eight elective courses. The program includes courses in computer networks, artificial intelligence, signal processing, computer architecture, software engineering, programming languages, database and its applications, data mining, and natural language processing. Students may also take courses from other engineering disciplines. Our program is a member of Oracle Academy and Microsoft Imagine Academy.
Computer Engineers are in demand across virtually every industry, including medical devices, communication equipment, and hardware manufacturing. Possessing the right skills is vital for competing and engaging in today’s global economy. This master’s degree helps graduates advance in their careers by equipping them with essential skills and exposure to applied research. Additionally, they can work as researchers on projects or apply to Ph.D. programs to further their academic careers.
